Not your everyday lunch

Sometimes you want something cool looking on your blog and I think this one worked out pretty well. I am still having a hard time to figure out how to photograph food. It ain't easy, let me tell you. Time will tell if my photography will improve. Bear with me for now ok?

I found this recipe online and made it for myself for lunch. Thought I should spoil myself. Worked out just fine.

1/2 zucchini (cut into little pieces)
3 cherry tomatoes (cut into little pieces)
a few crumbles of goat cheese
50 grams of salmon (cut into little pieces)
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
a bit of mustard
salt & pepper
dill (fresh)
a teaspoon sugar
Oh yes, and you need a cooking ring.

Mix the lemon juice, mustard, s&p, dill and the sugar.
Put one tablespoon of this mixture over the zucchini.
Crumble the goat cheese over the tomatoes.
Put a ring on a plate. Put the zucchini in the ring and press gently.
Then put the mixture of the goat cheese and the tomatoes on the zucchini and press gently again.
Add the salmon on top of the whole thing and again, press gently.
Final step is to remove the ring and tadaaaaaa. YUM!

This looks delicious and what a great treat for lunch! I'm not sure I feel deserving! I saw your comment on Under The Tulip Tree about food photography and hopped over to see your blog. It's beautiful. I'm not a food blogger, but one of my favorite food photography books is called Plate to Pixel by Helene Dujardin. Not sure if you can get it in the Netherlands, but it's worth a look, right? And your poached eggs are gorgeous!

Oh and I just saw your 'coming up' list for the first time. That is soooo cool! Can't wait for the chocolate mousse recipe! Pauls classics (what on earth could that be?), and waterzooi! Yay!
